Support the Next Standing Ovation!
The UTEP Concerto/Aria Competition is a performance competition in the Department of Music that provides talented student musicians and vocalists with an extraordinary opportunity to showcase their artistry. Winners earn the opportunity to perform as featured soloists with the UTEP Symphony Orchestra.
In preparation, students spend months developing their technical skills, artistic expression and stage presence. Through this competition, students gain experience performing before a panel of accomplished musicians and educators, learning how to present themselves as professional artists.
The competition also creates connections between UTEP and the wider music community. Professional performers and educators serve as judges and clinicians, providing students with valuable feedback and mentorship. By bringing distinguished artists to campus, the competition strengthens UTEP's partnerships with other institutions and helps establish El Paso as a center for musical excellence.
The impact of the Concerto/Aria Competition extends beyond UTEP students. By providing an opportunity for the El Paso community to view performances by participants and winners, our sense of community and culture is enriched, in addition to the competition showcasing the incredible talent being developed at UTEP. Through this community engagement, students can inspire future generations of musicians and demonstrate the value of arts education in our community.
Your support helps us ensure that this transformative experience will remain accessible to students and continue to grow in impact and participation. Funds raised through this campaign will cover expenses associated with bringing judges and clinicians to campus and enhancing the overall competition experience.
