First-Generation Initiatives
With more than half of UTEP’s student population identifying as first-generation college students, UTEP is deeply committed to ensuring they have the support and resources needed to thrive throughout their journey in higher education.
Giving to the First-Generation Initiatives provides specialized support, scholarship funding, and mentorship opportunities that foster a culture of care and belonging for first-gen Miners.
For many first-generation students, earning a college degree is not only a personal achievement, it is a milestone for their entire families and communities. They are paving the way for the generations after them. Despite their determination, first-gen students still often face unique cultural, academic, and financial challenges on their path to graduation.
Your gift helps bridge these gaps by supporting:
- Student services such as tutoring, advising, coaching, and mentoring
- Access to transformative experiences like conferences, study abroad programs, internships, and research opportunities
- Connections to first-generation peer leaders, faculty, mentors, and alumni who inspire and guide them along the way
When you give to First-Generation Initiatives, you help students turn perseverance into possibility, and dreams into degrees.
Do you remember what it was like navigating college as a first-gen student?
Raise your pick. Raise their possibilities.
